A Tandem Instructor in the US wrote us a
note explaining a problem he was having.
"I am a tandem
slave that has worn out too many expensive
jumpsuits, as well as ruined a bunch of sweat pants. It is generally too
hot to go back to back in a jumpsuit anyway, and
I was hoping that you guys would
be willing to
make free fly pants with booties out of
something very durable that could
stand up to the
occasional
leg wrestling and slide in landings. I don’t
need grippers or a top, but booties while not absolutely essential would
help, a pocket would be a neat plus.
I would call them tandem pants."
We liked the idea so much we created "TANDEM PANTS"
(Ok, so we are not creative with names)
We kept the belted waist of the freefly pants, and added
booties. Made them out of tough, long lasting and oh so comfortable hemp
fabric. We sent them out to the tandem slave. Well, we heard back from him
recently, And he had this to say:
"Got
them Friday and made a dozen tandems this weekend. They look great, they
are comfortable, and it is obvious that they are well made and should last a
long time. I especially like your bootie construction, they work better
than any other booties I have ever worn (2 Zutes, 2Merlins, 2Tonys). I got
lots of comments and told people about your great customer service and the
relatively short turn around time….Folks at my DZ have been waiting months
for Bevs and Zutes….so hopefully you will get some business out of this.
I had
one particularly bad student this weekend… with her legs in a complete pike,
I was able to pitch her forward enough to get level and throw the drogue
just by sticking out my legs….it was powerful!! I even wore them to do a
fun RW jump on the sunset load…tracking is a lot faster now.
The
other tandem instructors were eyeing them jealously… so I didn’t take them
off until dinner.
I will
try and get you a picture.
Thanks
a bunch!
Chris
M."
Now we just need the
picture, Come on Chris, someone must have a camera there.
If you want them
without booties, no problem, we can do that too.
We made this pair for a
tandem master in North Carolina, on the ground,
and in the air>
